Hi all — sharing a bit about Stepping Stone World, the preschool/day care I'm involved with, in case it's useful to anyone researching options for their little ones. We're a licensed preschool and day care for children age 2 through entry into first grade, with both full-time and part-time programs. A few things that might matter if you're comparing preschools: We follow a HighScope-style curriculum built around weekly themes — kids are encouraged to make their own choices about materials and activities, with teachers supporting that exploration rather than directing every minute. Lots of hands-on learning: finger painting, play-dough, arts and crafts — the idea being that exploration sparks creativity and ideas. 1:9 teacher-to-student ratio with small class sizes, so teachers can actually get to know each child's pace and interests. The focus is on whole-child development — cognitive, social/emotional, creative, and physical — with academics blended into play rather than separated from it. We try to keep the environment safe, secure, and home-like/comfortable, since we believe kids learn better when they feel secure. Happy to answer any questions if you're curious about the philosophy or how the day-to-day works. Feel free to message us directly if you'd like to inquire further.
