Part 2 | Brahman Explained | Aham Brahmasmi & the Idea of Oneness Part 2: From Cause to Consciousness As our recent discussion went deeper, Shri Amarnath Jha Bakshi ji spoke about something very basic, the idea of cause and effect. Our ancestors must have thought along those lines. We have parents, they had theirs, and this chain goes on. So naturally, the question came, where did it all begin? Who is the ultimate source? They called that Brahman (ब्रह्म). But this was not a person or a form. It was understood as infinity. Everything we see, and even what we cannot see, is part of that infinity. So gradually, the idea of creator, energy, and source all became one, Brahman (ब्रह्म) as infinity. What is interesting is that even modern science is moving in a similar direction, talking about energy, continuity, and something that connects everything. The mahavakyas say it very simply, Aham Brahmasmi (अहं ब्रह्मास्मि) and Tat Tvam Asi (तत् त्वम् असि). You are part of that infinite, and in a way, that infinite is within you. Vibha ji added that our body is made of panch tatva (पंचतत्त्व), the five elements, but what is inside, the consciousness, the atma (आत्मा), that is Brahman (ब्रह्म). Bakshi ji connected this to Advaita Vedanta (अद्वैत वेदान्त), that there is no real separation. We may appear different, but we are part of one larger consciousness. He also pointed out how even quantum physics today speaks about energy and interconnectedness. In that sense, we are not separate from infinity, nor is it separate from us. We are one. But he also said something important, saying this is easy, accepting it truly is not. Those who can see this oneness everywhere are the enlightened ones.
