Twists in the Sky: The Wiffling Wonders of Bar-Headed Geese at Indresham, Sangareddy | 4K A flock of Bar-headed geese was observed doing this behavior known as "Wiffling" at Indresham, Sangareddy district of Telangana State. Wiffling in birds is a flight maneuver where a bird rapidly descends by intentionally destabilizing its flight. It involves twisting or tilting the body, wings, or tail in a way that creates aerodynamic drag, causing the bird to drop quickly, often in a zigzag or spiraling motion. This behavior is often seen in geese, ducks, and other waterfowl, and it serves various purposes, such as: 1) Rapid descent: To land quickly, especially when approaching water or evading predators. 2) Predator evasion: The erratic movement makes it harder for predators to predict their trajectory. 3) Energy management: To lose altitude without gaining too much forward momentum. Wiffling is fascinating to observe, as it looks chaotic but is actually a controlled and deliberate action! #wiffling #barheadedgoose #geese #birdvideos #birds #sriramwildlifephotographer #sriramreddy #amazingbirdsvideo #amazingbirdfacts #amazingbirds #amazingfacts https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=c0PYiNlutwQ
