Novel : Bird Box Aurthor : Josh Malerman   Reading it feels like being trapped in a world where even looking outside could cost your life. That concept alone creates a constant sense of tension. What stood out to me was the way the story moves between timelines—switching from Malorie’s past (when everything begins) to her present journey blindfolded with two children. It adds depth and slowly reveals how things fell apart, which kept me hooked throughout. The writing is simple but very effective. There aren’t overly complex descriptions, yet the atmosphere feels heavy and suffocating. The fear isn’t loud—it’s quiet, psychological, and lingers even after you stop reading. I found myself imagining what it would actually be like to survive without sight, and that made the experience even more intense. Malorie as a character is strong but not unrealistically heroic. Her decisions feel raw and human, especially when it comes to protecting the children. That emotional connection adds weight to the horror.
