Our arangetram in 2024 was a truly emotional and unforgettable milestone. The long, tiring, and extremely challenging repertoire tested our strength and endurance, but it also shaped us, helping us grow immensely as dancers. Sharing this journey together as sisters made the experience even more meaningful &mdash; every movement, every rhythm, and every expression became a reflection of our hard work, passion, and love for Bharatanatyam.
Our arangetram in 2024 was a deeply emotional milestone that shaped us as dancers. The repertoire was both demanding and rewarding &mdash; beginning with a challenging Alarippu, moving into the extremely unique Sathoorkamini Varnam, followed by the powerful Kshtraya Padam &lsquo;Ninnu Jooda&rsquo;, the tender Chinnanchiru Kiliye, and concluding with a traditional Kalakshetra Thillana. Each piece tested our stamina, expression, and artistry, pushing us beyond our limits and helping us grow. Sharing this journey as sisters made the experience all the more special &mdash; a reflection of our hard work, love, and dedication to Bharatanatyam.

Dance-journey

The Alarippu (Kandam tala) opened with the sacred chant Nagendra Haraya, invoking Lord Shiva. The rhythmic precision of the choreography, combined with the divine energy of the chant, set a powerful tone for the entire arangetram.

I am a Bharatanatyam dancer who began learning this art form at a young age and have grown to love it for its discipline, grace, and storytelling. In 2024, I performed my arangetram with my twin sister, a milestone that deepened my bond with the art. For me, dance is not just performance &mdash; it is a way of expressing emotion, connecting with tradition, and sharing joy with others.
