Shri Bhagawan Uvaca:

Verse 5-8

When you a make of list of people who are important and the ones who have given most pain, you prioritize them based on your likes and dislikes. At the end of time, that state of mind (bhava) will continue for the next time/life. Your bhava will continue in the next life.

Life is a continuum; death is a stop in the journey. Then, you must decide in what state of mind (bhava) you want to continue. Most of us are entangled in our family and friends so the next birth will be around that place.

We are seekers (in sanatan dharma) in search of the ultimate goal to reach to the state of “being”. Someone is in Gyan yoga, someone is in Bhakti yoga and others may be in Karma yoga. In all yoga style there is an expectation that Bhagawan will give peace, wealth, and health. If you must come to ME, then your entire life must be devoted to ME all the time. You must practice the style to focus on ME all the time.

You are here because of your past actions. Now the next time the process will change based on yesterday bhava. Whatever I am seeing (bhava) now will dictate the direction of my journey. I am aware of my next action based on present bhava.

Verse 9-10

I am the creator, and I am the created. I am the process of creation. Nirgun brahman is Achintaye, it cannot be understood. You can only experience it. You see your image in front of mirror, we become self-aware that it is me. A lot of animals are not aware of self. We are talking about the continuous journey of life. Continue to focus on the middle of your eyebrows and focus on ME.

Yoga karma su-kaushlam – performing actions with full devotion is called yoga.

Bhagavad Gita – Chapter 8 – Akshara Brahma Yoga

Sri Bhagawan Uvaca:

Verse 9-10

The smallest of all I am. I am achintaye, which cannot be understood, it is not an object. How should we focus on ME? Bring prana in the middle of two eyebrows all the time.

Verse 11
Brahmacharya – whose behavior is like brahma acharya, free from attachment and desires.

Verse 12
Control your indriyas, bring your mind into heart, bring your prana in the middle of two eyebrows. Concentration (your mind is used) is single pointedness, and you forget yourself, you forget your own existence. In spiritual meditation, your self-awareness is elevated; your self-awareness is expanded to the level where your mind is gone. HE also pointed out heart and head. You are keeping mind in heart implies that your un-conditional love expands to reach bliss. The core quality of heart needs to merge with mind. Indriyas control:

1.     Third eye chakra Shivaji’s third eye opens – ignorance is destroyed; destruction of maya; beyond timescale. When prana opens the third eye then you can see your present, past and future.

2.     Head – crown chakra – connector with divine; focus your prana with third eye and atma connected to crown chakra then you reach Brahman (being).

3.     Prana control (Pranayama – Prana-Vayu)

a.     Rai – matter

b.     Prana – energy

c.     Your breathing speed changes based on the condition of mind (stressed or not stressed). Left nostril – moon calm down; Right nostril – Agni got triggered, which is needed at the time of eating.

d.     If we change the breathing pattern, it changes the condition of mind

4.     Chakras – Moola Dhar, Heart is a balancer – above heart is related to spiritual; below heart is related to physical.

Aham – I am the seer; we know Srishti by name (nama) and roopa; once you have defined name and roop, then you know it. They become part of shabda. Shabda are created through akchar. The whole Srishti is defined.

Aham – m is the identity – that point when it is directed towards Srishti, then it identifies with self – sansarik aham. When that point starts looking upwards, then it starts attaching to Brahman then it becomes Aham Brahmasmi. Therefore, atma starts identifying with parmatma – bring that atma towards Brahma then we merge with Brahman. When it identifies with Srishti, it becomes ahankara.

Bhagavad Gita – Chapter 8 – Akshara Brahma Yoga

Shri Bhagawan Uvaca:

Verse 13-14

OM is created based on shanti. Between two OM (pronunciation) represents the brahman. One should meditate on the silence (maun) between the two OMs. OM pronunciation activates your prana shakti. All chakras below Heart chakra are related to Srishti. Manipur is related with Sansarik Identity. What do I want in this world? When you do not achieve something due to some impediments in the environment, then your relationship with Srishti gets disturbed.

Below Manipura Chakra – Swadhistan chakra, which will affect your mind that affects your confidence (example). This is also related to Srishti again. Suppose someone ditches you, your relationship goes bad.

Mooldhara chakra (Base) – related to survival instincts. All fears are affected by this.

Heart chakra is affected by unconditional bhava – it will affect the lower chakra positively. The fear and identity do not affect anymore. When we are entangled in three chakras below heart, we start ignoring Heart chakra.

When we chant OM – the prana shakti starts moving-up. The vibrations due to OM starts taking you beyond Heart – Three eyes. When you contemplate on OM then you also experience the gap between two OM (silence), which will take you to Brahman.

  • Gayatri mantra can affect the physical and mental environment.
  •

  • Everything is embodied in OM – before Srishti and creator of Srishti.
  •

Verse 14-16
Whose parmatma is wealth. Now your budhi is focused on para – that is why you are Partha. Your awareness is constantly in that stage. Your awareness needs to be expanded.

Vibrations are present in the Brahmand. The mantra invokes these vibrations. Once you reach Brahman you do not take re-birth. There are four maha-vakya and three stages of understanding, knowing and being.

Bhagavad Gita – Chapter 8 – Akshara Brahma Yoga

Shri Bhagawan Uvaca:

Meditation:
It is not about listening to the silence but becoming the silence.
One must drop all the efforts – like Shava asana. Your meditation must change to focus on becoming silence. All meditations are related to the control of mind. This provides the ownership of your mind. Then, you can drop everything else and become Being (understanding, knowing (experience) and becoming – being).

Meditation techniques must be taught according to the natural tendencies of an individual. For example, fish can swim in deep water very easily. If fish is put in shallow water, it cannot swim naturally.

Meditation – Mooldhara chakra in harmony – related to physical aspect of body.

Tara (Taada) asana – Standing barefoot on the ground. One needs to come to the state of blissfulness – bring your energy in harmony with earth’s energy. Meditation is a process to bring you to the state of knowing and then to the state of being. The state of mind affects the functioning of organs. Every organ vibrates at certain frequency. Removing your mind’s will and let nature do its work. You harmonize yourself with the Srishti – all anxiety goes away. Later you will learn how to control your prana.

Benefits: Anxiety will be reduced; blood pressure will be normalized. You can bring your memory back to be in that state.

Bhagavad Gita – Chapter 8 – Akshara Brahma Yoga

Shri Bhagawan Uvaca:

Verse 20-28

Chandrama (Ingala nadi) represents mind (maan) whereas Sun (Pingala nadi) is budhi. When intellect is going towards knowledge, then it is going towards Uttaranayan. In this way, it is not possible to return in this world. Also, till your mind is attached to the worldly affairs you are in southern (Dakshinarayan), then you will return to this earth.

Usually, we attach everything with physical matters that runs according to sun and lunar calendars. When you look at it from the spiritual perspective, then you are talking about a person seeking knowledge about True Self. All energies, efforts are concentrated to merge with the supreme abode – Brahman. Karma, Dharma, Bhakti – all are focused on gaining knowledge to merge with brahman.

  • Creative energy (force)
  •

  • Sustainable energy (force)
  •

  • Change energy (force)
  •

These energies are known as Brahma (Sarasvati), Vishnu (Lakshmi) and Mahesh (Parvati). These energies are associated with the Consciousness, that is why they become devas like.

Brahman:

  1. Consciousness – knowing aspect
  2.

  3. Will – intent – sense of doing
  4.

  5. Being - becoming
  6.

This is how creation starts – when nirgun brahman transforms into saguna it requires energies.
